In both transgenic lines, Casparian strip is detected in the normal location of the endodermis (arrowheads in A,C,E), as well as in some cells of the outermost tissue (arrows in C,E). Lignin in the xylem is also stained. JIM13 is also detected in the normal location of the endodermis (B,D,F) and in some cells of the outermost tissue (D,F).
