Cover: Hatching stage embryos of the long-finned squid Loligo pealii (dorsal, ventral and lateral views). Cardiac NK-2 class homeodomain proteins from such cephalopods and from vertebrates share a common domain architecture, suggesting that this domain structure pre-dates the protostome/deuterosome divergence.
